We, Donna Shappy and Paula Dunnells, Nominations Co-Coordinators, in accordance with Article 9-2 of Capital District Paralegal Association’s By-Laws (“CDPA”), hereby give notice that nominations are now being accepted for all officer and director positions for CDPA’s year 2020. They are as follows:
Continuing Legal Education (CLE)
Empire State Alliance of Paralegal Associations (ESAPA) Primary Representative
ESAPA Secondary Representative
National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) Primary Delegate
NFPA Secondary Delegate
Pro Bono / Community Service
Each Officer position is a one-year term and has a term limit of four years. In order to serve as President, a voting member in good-standing must have one-year of service on the Board of Directors. Officers can only be voted-in by a majority of the voting membership. If we do not elect Officers on December 11, 2019, a new vote will have to be conducted by the voting membership at a later date.
Directors must be voting members in good-standing and do not have term limits. Officers and Directors are required to attend Board meetings. However, ALL members are welcome to attend Board meetings. While Directors are voted by the membership, vacancies can be filled by a majority vote of the Board.
What's in it for you?
Some of the benefits of Board involvement are the opportunity to meet, familiarize yourself and network with CDPA members; learn new skills or dazzle us with your skills; a resume builder; strengthen the organization; and get a jump on job leads.
No extraordinary skills or lengthy tenure as a member are necessary. The organization simply needs members with the desire and interest to bring new ideas to the Board and continue to propel this organization forward.
Contact the Officer(s) or Director(s) heading up the positions that interest you. You'll find us in the Contact tab of the website.
Nominations will be closed midnight,
November 15, 2019.
