The Capital District Paralegal Association, Inc. (CDPA) celebrates twenty years of serving paralegals and the Capital District legal community. CDPA was founded in 1993 as the Albany Legal Assistants Association. The Association was incorporated in 1996 as a not-for-profit corporation and in 2001 the Association changed its name to the Capital District Paralegal Association, Inc.
Message from our President
The Capital District Paralegal Association, Inc. is commemorating the 20th anniversary of our incorporation as a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to being "The Paralegals' Professional Resource." This year we celebrate our continued professional presence in our on-going commitment to provide support, education and experience to veteran and new paralegals as well as students working toward entering the paralegal field.
This organization would not exist if weren't for the vision and dedication of the paralegals who found time in their busy 9-5 lives to create and build a professional association to offer a forum in which paralegals could connect, network and learn more to become better in their careers. We honor and thank past presidents from the Albany Legal Assistants Association (our first name) and CDPA for turning a vision into a reality.
The members, both past and present, who have stepped up to volunteer their time as officers, directors, and committee members have been the backbone and life-blood of CDPA. Without their tireless commitment, this organization could not exist. In my short time serving on the CDPA Board, they have continually impressed me. I cannot thank the Board members enough for their time and effort in propelling this organization forward. They are an amazing group of professionals with innovative ideas and a can-do spirit in anything that comes their way. It has been an honor working with all of you!
