In Memoriam

Dear Members,

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Allyssa.

Allyssa joined our paralegal association in 2015 and had been an active and dedicated member ever since. Over the years, she generously served our organization in numerous leadership roles, including Pro Bono Director, Secretary, and President. Her commitment to the growth and integrity of our association left a lasting mark on all of us.

Allyssa was a PACE Registered Paralegal and a New York State Certified Paralegal with more than 24 years of experience in the profession. Most recently, she worked at Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC in their Labor Department, where she assisted attorneys in a wide range of labor law matters with the skill, professionalism, and dedication that defined her career.

Beyond her impressive professional accomplishments, Allyssa brought light to our association. She was funny, charismatic, and deeply passionate about the paralegal profession. She had a remarkable way of making others feel welcome and valued. Allyssa was also deeply family-oriented and often shared stories of her involvement in her family’s extracurricular activities, which she spoke about with pride and joy.

Her presence enriched our community in ways that words can hardly capture. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her. We are truly saddened to share this news and extend our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 21st, at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, New York, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Members of the Board of Directors will be present at 11:00 a.m. to honor Allyssa and support her family, and we welcome any members who wish to join us.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Allyssa’s memory be made to a college fund established for her children, Ellison and Ethan. If you would like to make a contribution, please visit Ugift529.com to make a contribution. For Ellison use code 22B-27B and for Ethan use code 33P-61Y.

We are grateful for Allyssa’s years of service, leadership, and friendship. Her legacy will continue to live on within our association.

With sympathy,

CDPA Board of Directors
